Joyent: cloud computing makes Internet of Things possible

Rod Boothby, VP International Corporate Development and Brian Brown, SVP Corporate Development from cloud computing provider Joyent discuss the data deluge that will be brought by the Internet of things (IoT). This is a world of sensor data where all manner of devices, sensors, tags and equipment will spew out data onto the network. The challenge is how to manage all the data: one suggestion is to analyze it in real time so that you can discard the majority of it without needing to store it.
